In order to fulfill the measurement requirements between operative stations along the transportation and distribution systems, SENSA offers a wide range of systems for liquid and gas flow measurement, satisfactorily fulfilling the needs of fiscal metering, ensuring the custody transfer of the valuable energetic resources between the operative areas.
The precision requirements of each facility are met with the installation of measurement instruments and equipment that comply with international standards and norms. The systems, dully dimensioned with IT tools of proven efficiency, generate the calculation memories that will enable to establish the proper selection of components, resulting in a maximized value/cost ratio for our customers.
The measurement systems consist of 3 main components:
1) Supervisory Control Sub-system
2) Electronic Measurement Sub-system
The application of this sub-system has the purpose of establishing the connectivity with the local and wide area control centers for the transmission of the measurement and control variables of the transportation, distribution, and custody transfer for an adequate management between the dispatch centers.
It is the interface between the user and the elements in field and is composed essentially of the computing equipment and the monitoring and control software that enables the monitoring and control of these hydrocarbons transference processes. A set of libraries suitable for the process, enable the developing of screens according to the needs of each facility.
It is composed of the primary measurement element and the flow computer, which process may be performed under different sampling mechanisms, such as hole plate, turbine, positive displacement, Coriolis or ultrasonic.
The selection of each primary element is carefully performed, based on the results obtained from the calculation memory as a function of its main variables, like the pipe diameter, product type, etc. The installation of the measurement elements include the auxiliary accessories, such as flow conditioners, flanges, etc. Each measurement element is provided with the test certificates that guarantee the validity of the measurement.
The cutting-edge flow computer has the necessary calculation algorithms to establish the engineering values that will be transmitted to the IHM and control centers. The flow computer performs the calculations using the value obtained by the measurement element and other auxiliary variables such as density, pressure, temperature, etc. which enable to calculate the compensated measurements, as well as a set of energetic properties from the measured product.
3) Field sensors and instruments
A set of field sensors and instruments (flow, temperature, pressure, density, etc.) complements the system requirements. The set of sensors and instruments is communicated to the flow computer using current loops or HART communication protocols for a greater data flow through one link.
